How to defend maintenance asked by girl in divorce

Its regarding one of my friend. He have filed a case for divorce . Now girls family filing a case for monthly compensation . What will be monthly compensation and how to defend on compensation . What to if compensation is too high?
The maintenance amount will calculated by taking into account the total monthly take home income without tax of both the spouses, educational background, number of years of marriage, number of children, and child custody are the major factors. which govern the maintenance amount and high compesation will be a result of long duration of marriage life.

If their is a child then maintained c like aimed for him and her separately.
You can mutually agree upon it and draw settlement deed or contest the same in court.
