Police do nothing for recovery of case, this is only procedure in civil or side by side in defense of criminal law to make pressure in police, by filing a complaint in Court. For you need a lawyer alone its difficult

You should have a bit more patience. When a police complaint is filed, the police investigates the matter and after the investigation finally submit the charge sheet in the court. It takes time. However, if u are convinced that the police is not doing anything, file an application in court calling for status report of your complaint.

Dear Sir/ Ma'am,

You are at liberty to approach the relevant Police Station and inquire about the status of your complaint. In the event that no action has been taken thereupon for a period of at least 15-20 days, then you may approach the Local Court vide a Criminal Complaint for registration of a FIR.
