Unable to pay the loans and the recovery people are threatening me.

I have take personal loans 8 lakhs and used my credit cards of 2 lakhs balance when I have job but as I was laid off from the company I am unable to pay my emis of 60 thousand per month and the recovery people are threatening me and calling me continuously and also they are contacting people from my contact list and contacted my dad regarding the payment of my EMIs without informing me.

Recovery agents have no legal authority to threaten, harass, or contact your relatives without your consent. Such conduct is unlawful under RBI guidelines and amounts to criminal intimidation. You can immediately lodge a complaint with the local police for harassment and also file a written complaint with the concerned bank/NBFC as well as the RBI Ombudsman. Until a court order is obtained, no recovery agent can forcefully seize property or disturb your family. At the same time, you may seek loan restructuring, moratorium, or settlement from the lender through legal representation to avoid escalation. All communication should be in writing, and any unlawful calls/messages should be recorded and preserved as evidence.

hi if the recovery people are contjnously harassing you and your family members and friends then you could approach to court seeking relief to not to harass and not to recover the excess amount from you
