Refund of security deposit for rented house

04-Jun-2023 (In Recovery Law)
Hi, my landlord is not refunding the security deposit and instead demanding additional charges which are not justified. We had left the premises on 4 April 2022 and the landlord agreed to repay after repairs in a week. There were minor repairs required for geyser, bathroom glass etc. Even after constant follow up, no payment was done. On 28 May, the landlord's son mailed me for additional payment for repairs. Please can you advice which I do not agree with.

You need to send them a legal notice to demand your money back and in that notice you must write that give you the money or face legal action. If you want to go legal then you can also file a complaint with the police station of your area. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

If there are no justifiable reasons or repairs, your landlord can not demand extra or he cannot withhold your security money. We can send a legal notice to recover the same. For any further legal assistance please feel free to contact

Thanks

Hi,
Going by the limited information provided by you, I could understand that your money is not refunded by the lanlord and on the contrary they are asking for more money. Under these circumstances it is advisable to send them a legal notice telling them the whole picture chronologically and asking for refund of your security deposits and denying the extra payment.
