Q: Unmarried aunt died without will in New Delhi
My dads younger unmarried sister died intestate of natural reasons at the age of 77 in New Delhi. She left behind some property in Delhi and New Bombay. She also had some bank deposits, all with nominees, but one of the nominees is also deceased. She is survived by one elder sister and her 2 children, apart from my mother (sister in law) and her 2 sons (me included). None of us stay in Delhi, what is the process now? Some advise heirship certificate, others say probate in Delhi or Mumbai.

Hifor the bank account with the nominee deceased you can simoly apply for the legal heir certificate.for other property or assets, succession certificate is required abd an apolication in court for the same is to be submitted.Hope this helps !
