Refund during Covid 19 in May 2021

16-Apr-2023 (In Recovery Law)
I’ve booked a resort in Uttarakhand for my wedding dated on 7th of May, 2021. Due to the current situation of Covid, we need to call off the wedding as the guests were supposed to come in from different states and from even outside india. I believe we should get the maximum refund as the cancellation is not our fault. Need help with the situation.

I completely agree present cancellation is not in our hand. It is entirely due to the covid19 pandemic outbreak. You have informed them well in advance and therefore the refund should be of the complete amount. Subject to contract.

The first point of concern in your situation would be going through the booking and cancellation policy, based on which lot of aspects can be cleared.
Further, since this situation is quite common these days in general due to ongoing pandemic, there are certain relief circulars or notifications which might help in your case.

Specific relief can only be ascertained after looking for loopholes in their policies or by liaising with the concerned authorities accordingly.
