The police does not have any authority to serve the notice of the advocate through police station. However as per my experience it may be a summons from the court which the advocate might have served to the police station after filing of the 138 cheque bounce case. if you have received a call from the police authorities please collect the summons and remain present in the court on the respective date.

Hello The matter is of section 138 NI Act. The legal notice is supposed to be sent to to you directly, Hence The opposite party can send you the legal notice directly via his Advocate. The party may mark CC to police station

Well, It is not mandatory as such to go in the Police Station and collect such Notice of Advocate! You can tell the Cop to Courier you such Notice via RPAD or to WhatsApp you or to Email you! Hope, you got the solution!

Those mostly are summons that are issued by the court to you to appear before the court. You may approach the police officer and receive the summons and take bail from him. Or you may ignore it and next time the court may as well issue a bailable or non bailable warrant against you.
