Hi there, in your case the best recourse for getting the unpaid dues is to file a recovery suit in court. Since, the amount of the dues is high it's far better to file it directly in court then waiting for any pre-litigation mediation process. However, to provide you with an appropriate strategy to recover dues I'll need additional details as to your employment terms and conditions. Therefore, it's advisable to contact me and provide requisite details to assist you better.

You may first send a formal legal notice to DSEU through an advocate demanding release of your pending dues of Rs. 2,65,000/- along with interest, within a stipulated period. Since you worked on a contractual basis and the amount pertains to unpaid salary/final settlement, you can thereafter file a recovery suit for money recovery before the competent civil court if payment is still withheld. You may also invoke writ jurisdiction before the Hon’ble Delhi High Court under Article 226 against the University, being a State instrumentality, for arbitrary non-payment of legitimate dues despite repeated representations. Preserve all documents including appointment letter, contract, attendance/work records, emails, reminders, relieving documents and bank statements. Delay of nearly two years without justification can be challenged as arbitrary and unfair administrative action.

In this scenario first of we need to send a comprehensive representation to the concerned department for seeking the appropriate dues on your behalf. If they fail to redress your grievances then we can approach Honble Delhi High Court by filing a Writ Petition
