You should stop relying on verbal assurances. Issue a legal notice immediately and file a recovery suit with interest. If deceit is proved, initiate criminal action for cheating and breach of trust to compel repayment.

Despite having the capacity to repay, he has been delaying the payment since the Covid period and has repeatedly given assurances without honouring them. This conduct is legally actionable as breach of trust and cheating. The law provides effective remedies through issuance of a legal notice, recovery proceedings, and, where necessary, criminal action, and taking timely legal steps is the most practical way to ensure repayment.

To recover your money, you should immediately send a formal Legal Notice. If he still doesn't pay, we can file a Summary Suit under Order 37 of the CPC for faster recovery or initiate criminal proceedings for cheating. I can help you draft the notice and initiate the legal process.
