Gave money to family friend now not returning the money

Hi Sir I have given money of amount 13lacs to one of my family friend when he is not n need but now he is not returning the amount I have been chasing him from past 6 months but nothing works. Pl help
First of all tell me sir that at the time of giving the said amount did you get any proof from him regarding that amount like cheque , affidavit , pronote etc. If yes then you can take legal action against him otherwise you cant take any type action against him .

If you have any of prove that you have given such as huge amount to him you can file recovery suit ,if you have his cheque you can file case of 138 of N.I Act but the question here is what are the prof do you have ..
Because Court always work on evidence...
