The application should be concise and supported with documents such as proof of age, complaint details, next date of hearing, allotment letter, and any evidence showing hardship. Although there is no guarantee that the request will be allowed, consumer forums often consider genuine hardship and senior citizen matters sympathetically. It is advisable to file a proper “Application for Early Hearing/Urgent Listing” in the pending matter rather than only sending a letter.

Hi there, you can individually write to NCDRC for requesting an early hearing but it will not be the proper procedure to be followed. Instead you should file an early hearing application before the Hon'ble Court for providing an early hearing date for disposing of the matter. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

Yes. An allottee can individually write to the President/Registrar of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission requesting expeditious hearing or early listing of the matter. Grounds such as senior citizen status, financial hardship, 12 years’ delay in completion, non-delivery of possession, and escalation in costs are valid considerations for seeking urgent hearing. However, such a letter does not guarantee advancement of the matter, as NCDRC follows judicial roster and procedure. Procedurally, the better course is to file a formal application for urgent hearing/early disposal through counsel in the pending case itself, supported by relevant documents.

Writing an informal or administrative letter directly to the President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) to expedite a matter is generally not the correct procedural route, even if the allottee is a senior citizen experiencing extreme hardship. You can always seek your advocates help to file the application and be present in the commission for the acceptance of the same.
