Fake Loan App Harassment Complaint: Seeking Help After Unauthorized Loan and Defamation

04-Jul-2024 (In Recovery Law)
I downloaded the Rupeeway loan app and submitted my documents for loan approval, but they disbursed 3850 rupees for 7 days without my consent and demanded a refund of 7000 rupees within 3 days. I told them I did not approve the loan and asked for its cancellation. I tried contacting their customer care number and email, but received no response. Instead, they publicized my picture with captions like 'loan chor' and 'rapist'. Please help me file a fake loan app harassment complaint.

If they are not listening to you then you can send them a legal notice and in that notice you can write either remove the unnecessary comments/defamation or face legal action. And if want to go legal then you can always forward a written complaint to the police station of your area. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Hi, Based on your query, it is quite clear that the app is a scam aimed at extorting money. In fact a preliminary search on the app shows: 1. The information of the owner of the app has been hidden on the google play store by said owners in a bid to remain anonymous 2. Its alleged primary NBFC lending company had no online information or evidence of registration with the RBI It is suggested that you file a complaint with the cyber cell as well as one with the RBI regarding this issue. If you require any assistance in this matter please feel to contact me.

Hi So, since you have provided your details, what they have done is punishable under law. You send a legal notice first i.e. part if your recovery process ( civil nature) and then can take action by filing a police complaint under criminal law for fraud and breach of trust. Thanks.
