What is the share of property according to christian laws

My father he died in an accident in 2014 he have a property which he received from his father ..my father died without making any will.. My father have one son and one daughter..now my sister is demanding for share she is married and settled..now I want to know that my mother Me and my sister have equal share on that property.we belongs to christian Latin Catholic?

Mother will take 1/3 share and the remaining 2/3 will be equally distributed among children irrespective of the number of children. In your case since you two children are there...you all get equally i.e. 1/3.

The property is jointly vested in the mother and the children, in accordance with the provisions of the Indian succession Act. The mother is entitled to one-third share, and the children - the renaming in equal shares. In the instant case, everyone has equal shares i.e one-third.

The property of a person dying intestate is bequeathed to the spouse of the deceased, or upon those who are kindred of the person deceased. Chapter II of the Indian Succession Act, 1925 provides for the order and the concerned rules for the devolution of the estate and the share to be allotted to the heirs. According to the Indian Succession Act, 1925, a Christian widow is entitled to one-third of her husbands property. All children get an equal share in the remaining property. That means female child is entitled to a share equal to that of her brother if the father dies intestate.
