There is no single statutory or national 'scale-for lawyer fees on property registration in India; fees are contractual and negotiable, subject to professional conduct rules (Bar Council of India rules) which prohibit unethical/contingent claims and require reasonableness and written agreement'stamp duty/registration are separate government charges (you stated '1,29,891). Typical market practice for simple sale'deed/conveyancing work is either a modest flat fee (often '5,000"25,000 in many cities) or a small percentage of the sale value (commonly 0.5%'2% in practice), plus GST where applicable (generally 18% or RCM rules may apply); for your property value '19,30,000 those examples compute as: 0.5% = '9,650 (GST '1,737; total fee '11,387; total with stamp/registration '1,41,278); 1% = '19,300 (GST '3,474; total fee '22,774; total with stamp/registration '1,52,665); flat '5,000 (GST '900; total fee '5,900; total with stamp/registration '1,35,791). Negotiate a written fee agreement and confirm GST treatment with your lawyer. Lawyer fees for property registration in India usually range from 1% to 2% of the property's market value. This is separate from government charges like stamp duty and registration fees. The cost can vary based on:

  • The lawyer's experience

  • The complexity of the transaction

  • The property's location

In addition, lawyers may charge a consultation fee (typically Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000), and there could be extra charges for drafting sale deeds or other legal paperwork.
