Validity of will if property stated not actually transferred

09-Jul-2023 (In Property Law)
My grandfather has written a will in which he made my grandmother legal owner of the house. After the death of my grandfather we have not done anything till now. Now my grandmother has made the will for half of the property on my name. But we have not done anything for transferring of property from my grand father name to my grand mother name. Whether her will is valid or not?

yes the said will is valid. if you are the only legal heir of such property then there will no future risk. if such property also belongs to other legal heirs or have others rights under such property. then I advise you to transfer the said property on your name vide filling a probate case in civil court.

Well to get the will of ur grandfather executed u should have filed probate so that, if nobody has any objections than the property would be transferred on your grandmother's name legally. If there is no objection in your family than its ok, but to get your name on the property paper or for any sale Purchase u and ur grandmother will have to file the probate.
