Property Registration- US Resident

We have purchased a property in Mumbai.The registration of property will be in March 2020 in the name of me and my wife. We are both in USA. My wife won't be able to travel in March. So can we register property if she gives Power of Attorney in my name.
What is the process of getting this POA? How can we get stamp paper in USA to create POA?
What is the role of embassy? Is the attested copy from embassy enough for doing property registration
You can get the special or General Power of Attorney drafted from an advocate and the said Power of Attorney can be signed by your wife in USA before Consulate officer of the Indian Embassy who will stamp it .

Dear Querist, your wife cam execute power in USA, and then forward it to Mumbai. After it is received in mumbai it needs to be immediately registered with registration office.
No need of stamp paper.
It needs to be executed before Embassy, where an officer will administer oath.

You don't need to purchase stamp in United state's . Advocate like me can draft Power of Attorney and will courier you at your address. Then you have to move and get the same attested from Indian Embassy. Important thing is that you wife will have to give you Special Power of Attorney and not General Power of Attorney because it is for specific work. On very day of registration you have to present same before registration office.
