How to recover booking money from builder

I have booked a flat in i but sue to some reason I m not able to make this purchase. So after cancellation the guy who sees that building booking and other process say that ur booking will be refunded in 15-20days.after waiting when the time comes he says that ur amount has been forfeited. So Request help me with this situation. And suggest where I go for further complain.
Please send legal notice through advocate for the refund of money..
You will have to file civil suit for recovery of money if the builder after getting the legal notice does not refunds your money.

For filling complaint and any recovery suit first of all you have any proof to you have paid the amount like an agreement than any proof for your cancellation of flat then you liable to file FIR and also Recovery suit on behalf of that builder

is there any paper work as regards the booking amount which u had paid? if there is not a clause of forfeiture of booking amount upon cancellation then the builder cannot forfeit your money. you can approach Consumer Court to take action against it and to recover your booking amount.
