if that property is his self acquired , then he can do so , if that property is ancestral then you can challenge the same in the court ,

Your Grandfather can gift his property to anyone as long as the property is self acquired. If its ancestral property, you have your right and challenge the gift deed. You must challenge in three years from gift deed, if its more than 3years, you have to justify the delay.

Dear sir, it is quite interesting issue and lack of full information. It is not stated whether your father got the property from his ancertors or self acquired property. If it is ancestral property, you are definitely having right in the property and as such, you can file suit for cancellation of gift deed and for declaration of title in your favour and for costs. you can as well contact good advocate for better legal advise and file the suit before court of law. It is also not clear your grand father is dead or alive.
