Can a father give his share of the inherited property to only one son

30-Aug-2023 (In Property Law)
The ancestral property of a father is divided between him and his two sons. My question is that "if the father is now living separately with one of his two sons, can he now give his share of the ancestral property to the sons he is currently living with?

After division of property , every right title and interest with respect to your father's share vests in him and after that he will be absolute owner of share allotted to him and he is fully entitled to deal with his share.

Yes. After partition, the father's share is his self acquired property and he is free to give it any one as per his desire or will. No body is entitled to claim it as his legal heir, during his life time.

There is established and settled principal of law releating to partition or division of ancestral property. Property has to be divided in equal and proposnate manner. It is also settled and established that one who got his share from ancestral property can give the same to any body.
