Bought a plot on my own earrings do I need husband for registration
25-Oct-2023 (In Property Law)
I bought a plot by my own earnings. While selling, whether my husband and son sign is required?. Plot is in my name.
Absolutely NOT. If the property's title and possession is in your name you can sell it at any time without any hindrances. It does not require your husband's or son's permission or consent or signature in the proposed sale deed. The question of buying the plot by using your own hard earned money or others money which you used for buying it is totally irrelevant unless there is any document executed by you with third party. Pl free to feel to contact me if you have any doubts. Thanks
Madam,
If the said property is bought in your name, out of your own earnings and the document registered sale deed pertaining to the said property, any contents saying that any the money received from husband/son while buying this property or in other words, if the sale deed shows only your name as absolute owner, then while selling the same your husband's/son's signature is not required. But the buyer may insist their signature in order to protect them from future consequences.

From what you have stated it is very clear that it is a self acquired property on which you have absolute right . You do not require the signature of your husband or your son but it is better to inform them that you are disposing the property.
