Road Accident Hit and Run , Truck hit my car from behind on Red Signal

On the evening of February 8th, around 7 PM, my car was involved in an accident while standing at a red signal. A truck came from behind and crashed into my car, severely damaging the trunk and breaking the glass. The estimated loss is ₹27,000. The truck driver, who was intoxicated, fled the scene, but I managed to capture a video recording of the truck's number after the impact.
I have already filed an FIR, but I am unsure about the next steps.
Well, FIR gets lodged for punishing the accused with Jail punishment, if you want to seek monetary compensation for the damages sustained by you, then, you have to file a Civil Suit against the Truck Driver/Truck Owner.
