My brother made an accident and FIR is raised against him

My brother hit an two wheeler and that man got injury on his laps and bones are fractured. We agreed to pay hospital expenses. But they are threatening us to pay 20lakhs as penalty and asking to get a new vehicle. How to face this when they file case in court
I hope, you have insurance for your vehicle especially 3rd Party insurance and a driving licence. Just give a police complaint and get the police assistance with the help of a Lawyer with helping motive. They cannot demand the hospital expenses or New vehicle. the insurance company will take care of your case.
