How to deal with drink and driving case

i was caught DnD . I dont have DL , police seized the vehicle . i met the next day. Is there any way of protecting a case against me and get clear so that it wont highlight in background check for passport?
It all depends upon the evidence the police will collect. If punishment is very small then it is better to admit the offence and pay the fine. Magistrates are in hurry to close the police cases by compounding. More in person.
