dear client , basic rule of law is a person should not be punished twice for the same offence in your case for the same offence you are economically punished twice for the same offence hence if the first receipt is with you send a scanned copy of it to the control department.or wait for a summons from the court where you can submit the challan, and get mental satisfaction of the fight against the injustice if you like my opinion, please rate me .

As you said you had paid fine of Rs. 500/- to the Policemen for not wearing helmet. Did he give you any receipt of fine or have you just paid him Rs. 500/- without taking any receipt? If it is so then you have to pay the e-challan and make a complaint against the Policemen to whom you have paid Rs. 500/- (Bribed).

If you have already made the payment for a challan through the e-challan website, but you still receive a physical copy of the challan by post, you can follow these steps:
- Check the status of your challan online by visiting https://echallan.parivahan.gov.in/index/accused-challan and entering your challan number, vehicle number or DL number. You should be able to see whether your payment has been updated or not.
- If your payment has been updated, you can ignore the challan received by post as it may have been sent before the online payment was reflected. You can also download the receipt of your online payment for your reference.
- If your payment has not been updated, you may have to contact the traffic police and provide them with the proof of your online payment, such as transaction ID, bank statement, etc. You may also have to submit a copy of the challan received by post along with your details.
- You may also have to pay a penalty or interest for late payment of challan if the online payment was not made within the due date specified on the challan.
