Can a regular tax payer file compensation against disability

 My dad met with an major road car accident on 15th Aug'2018. Although there is no third party damage but car thrashed with divider , He was admitted in the hospital from last 40 days. Presently ,he is slowly recovering but right now his vision is 0 % (Blind). He is a regular tax payer therefore, can I file compensation against his disability ?

No you cannot file compensation on the ground of disability in income tax department but under the income tax laws which provide certain tax benefits to individuals if either they or any of their family members are suffering from certain disabilities. Section 80U offers tax benefits if the individual suffers a disability while Section 80DD offers tax benefits if an individual taxpayer’s dependent family member(s) suffers from a disability. and blindness is one of the defined disability in Income Tax Law.
