Vacated the property now landlord asking for 3 months rent

26-Jun-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I had rented a property a year back which I vacated 3 months before. I didn't have any written agreement so I didn't think of sendig a termination notice at the time of vacating it. My landlord has been asking me to pay the rent for these 3 months as he says I didn't gave any notice to him. Though I had told him verbely that I was vacating that property. What should I do? I am a Hindu .

You are not liable to pay the 3 months rent as you had given him a verbal notice which is also a binding contract. As there is no agreement between the 2 of you he cannot demand the amount and on what grounds is he asking you the money.
