Hello, What is the time limit for tenant police verification in Delhi, and what are the penalties / legal action if the landlord fails to do tenant police verification during the time period?
According to the Delhi Police Guidelines and Rules for verification of the tenant,The tenant verification should be done prior to the handover of the physical possession to the Tenant so as to be sure about the tenant and his identity and past record so as to not have any problem in future otherwise there is no specific time limit mentioned.

U have to verify tenant within 15 days. Action will be taken under delhi police act , take adhaar card etc for verification of the tenant . ,If u face any proceeding against u , u can contact us for legal help

No such time limit is there for tenant police verification. But this verification has to be done before handling over the keys to the tenant. If you failed to do this then you will be liable for 1 month imprisonment or Rs. 200 fine.
