Tenant using abusive language can I directly approach police

01-Mar-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)

We have a l tobacco gutka selling tenant for last 15 years, who has put up a shop on planks outside our house. He is also mentally unstable, aggressive, alcoholic, and keeps other unruly men with him, inspite of signing on 11 months lease agreements yearly, either by himself or by his wife for last 7 years. He or his wife has signed on over 10 self declarations of pardoning for wrong doings (using abusive language, keeping outsiders, etc). Can I directly approach police to evict him signed on his self declarations, and based on a letter signed by some neighbors to evict him from our house.

Police cannot be roped in for eviction of tenants. But, no doubt, you may make appropriate complaint to the police for taking suitable action(s). For eviction, one has to follow the civil laws, such as relevant Rent Act, Transfer of Property Act.
