Tenant damaged landlord's property due to negligence
09-May-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I need to know if a tenant without realization, accidentally keeps a tap open due to no availability of water while washing clothes and goes our and when he comes back after some hours water supply had been resumed as per daily schedule and he realizes that water has logged in the flat and some wooden flooring is puffed. Now who will have to pay for this wooden flooring repair in this case. Has tenant pay to owner all the amount for repair as it was by mistake and water went off suddenly or what is the legal solution here. Please suggest, need help asap.
In case of any damage cause by the tenant in the tenanted property due to the fault of the tenant, the tenant is responsible to make repairs of such damage. The tenant is to keep the property as his own and has to repair for any damage.
