Students as tenants not allowed by society what can I do

The society is not allowing for students stay as tenant... I have submittedvthe police verification forms but not yet done agreement as was busy..and planning to do so. What should be the legal advise on this
Societies can make these rules in their by-laws if all the owners agree to it. But if such rules are not included in the by-laws, there cannot be any restrictions.
But in most societies the by-laws don't directly dictate such terms but are indirectly implied in which case, you can stay there if the landlord doesn't object to it and if you are not in violation of any rule.
