Rent agreement amendment procedure

07-Aug-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
Hi We are 3 working professionals sharing a 3bhk flat. We have a rent agreement which was made 3 months back. Now, one of us is moving out. Another friend of ours is ready to move in in his place. So, is there any procedure through which we can include his name in the existing agreement ? Coz if we get a new agreement made we'll have bear the brokerage again. Thanks !

As per your query, tenancy agreements are generally made in one person’s name so if that is the case in your situation then you will need to get a new agreement made if the agreement holder is leaving. If the name signatory is not leaving then you can allow a new tenant to come in without renewing the contract.
If all three of you had made a separate agreement or joint agreement then you will need to renew the agreement.
