Please suggest will a xerox copy not work to get security back?
01-Oct-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I lost my rental agreement, i have a Xerox copy of the agreement but landlord is saying that he will not return the money until n unless you will show the original so please give a suggestion.
You may inform your landlord that if one can show that the original has been lost or destroyed, a copy thereof can be used as evidence in a court of law as proof of the contents of the original document. This may convince him to return the amounts.
If the problem persists then file a criminal complaint and a civil suit for recovery.
