Landlord wants the tenants to pay the rent to redeveloper
04-May-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I stay in a rented apartment for over 70 yrs. Wish to pay the landlord the rent. He said pay the redeveloper the rent. Tenants have yet to approve of redeveloper. The letter given to us by the landlord is a photocopy given to all tenants. There is nothing to state in their agreement to show that the developer will take the rent. Who do I give the rent to and how? I have to pay the rent from 1 Jan 2016. I always paid for six months in advance. Landlord has not given rent receipt to one tenant who sent the rent by way of Registered AD. Pay order Please advice me. I have always paid on time.
Your landlord tenant relationship is governed by you rent agreement. If your landlord is asking you to make rent payments to the redeveloper then you can ask the landlord to make a fresh agreement where it is mentioned that you will have to pay the rent to the redeveloper for the period of time.
