Landlord deducting money from security amount

12-Apr-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)

I have stayed in a house for more than 5 years and paid the advance amount of 95000Rs. I vacated the house in the month of March-2016, and during settlement, the owner is deduction 30000Rs as Painting/carpenter/plumbing for the house we neatly kept with only natural wear and tear. With great difficultly he reduced 5000rs from 30000rs what he is asking. For which I have not accepted, he scolded me very badly and humiliated me. Please help me how to proceed.

It is a duty of landllord to return security deposit after deductions for minor repairs, painting services and balance of rental amount, if any. If the deduction is more than the amount used for minor repairs then you can send your landlord a legal notice and claim your amount for the same.
