Gave notice to landlord as per agreement now he is deducting penalty

11-Jul-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I am vacating my owners house in just three months but i have informed him one month prior as mentioned in agreement, now he is saying he will deduct one month rent as a penalty, but in rental agreement nowhere it is mentioned as i have to stay for some minimum period or so. Please help me if it is correct that he can fine a penalty on me? Please advice to save my money as my rent is 16000, and i will be loosing it without any reason. He is not getting ready to listen to me , other way he was asking for two months rent as penalty. But after my long request he reduced to one month.

there is no such law where the landlord can deduct the rent amount after a notice period. Secondly, if your agreement does not have the clause of one month rent then he has not authority or right to deduct it. you may send him a legal notice asking for the money.
