Eviction suit filed tenant not attending court proceeding what to do

17-Jun-2023 (In Landlord/Tenant Law)
I purchased a property in 2013 to construct a house for my own as i am still staying in rented house in which tenant(of previous owner) was running a wine shop. After purchasing the property when we issued an attorney notice to vacate, but he denied & we filed an eviction suite against him. Initally his advocate was attending the case but at the cross examing stage he stopped attending for 3 consecutive dates. what would be the future court proceedings? Note: The tenant is not paying any rent till know as we have not demaded rent from him instead we have claimed nominal damaging charges.

If the opposite party is not appearing in the court from the last 3 dates your counsel can ask the court to order for an ex parte proceedings in this matter and you may have upper hand in the case. If your not taking rent and claiming for damages then also the same proceedings would take place
