Maternity leave and benefits denied by corporate hospital

I work as an associate consultant in a corporate hospital in hyderabad. I delivered baby on 28 november 2023. When I asked for maternity leave, they told being a consultant I won't maternity leave or benefits . What can I do
hi first need to see the terms and conditions of the joining letter or agreement and is there any clause in the agreement which denies the leave and if it is not there then you could send them legal notice or proceed legally
