Employer extended notice period from 2 months to 3 months

10-Aug-2023 (In Labour & Service Law)
Dear Sir My employer-a software MNC in Bangalore has recently changed the notice period from 2 months to 3 months against the original terms cited in the offer letter with me 3 years ago. I resigned recently, they are asking for a buyout of 1 month or serve notice period of 3 months. This is unfair and illegal in my view and as per the binding agreement . Please advice. thank you

you are bound by your original agreement. not by the new one. you can give a notice to them regarding your resignation and you are not bound by any new contract unless it was also served on you and you consented to that. thank you.
