What is the procedure to stop encashing of cheque in Dubai?

I am in Dubai. I have issued a cheque to a bank on my credit card dues. Since I need some more money to encash the cheque, I approached my banker and requested orally not to honour the cheque. The manager refused to do so. He says it is an offence. I don’t understand. What to do?
Please ensure to keep sufficient amount to honour the cheque. The manager has rightly refused. Please note that in UAE Criminal Law, even intimating the banker not to honour the cheque is equivalent to bounce of cheque. The punishment is same.
