How to recover dues from foreign clients?

24-Nov-2023 (In International Law Law)
My company is in India. We are engineers specialized in erecting and commissioning gas plants. We provide these services abroad and we have many clients in Asia. We did a project on oxygen and liquid nitrogen plant by erecting and commissioning the plant to a client at Egypt. We have a valid agreement between us. All the conditions have been met. After handing over of the plant, the client has not paid us the balance of INR 8000000. In addition to this, the client is supposed to pay 10% balance which as per agreement he had to keep for 3 months after handing over. Now, the 3 months also has lapsed and he is refusing to pay on different grounds. How shall we go about for recovery? There is no arbitration clause in the agreement.

Firstly, we need to peruse the agreement to properly advise you. You have not given whether you are under ECGS. From the inputs you have provided here, you may approach DGFT or move the appropriate jurisdictional court either here in India or at Egypt for remedy. We can assist you in any of these if you need our service.
