Witness Required for Marriage Certificate

Hi All,
I am from Delhi, and applied for Marriage Certificate via Delhi DISTRICT portal.
I want to confirm if the parents from groom side can acts as the two witness required for the certificate.
I am kind of confused as I have been told that the witness shouldn't bear the same address as the groom.
The witnesses can be anyone. There's no bar regarding the relations with either the groom or the bride side. You just need two witnesses having the aadhar card and the PAN card to register yourself for the marriage certificate.

Any individual, being citizen of India, above the age of 18 years and of sound mind, can be witness to your marriage registration certificate proceeding. There is no legal bar for the same. For any further query feel free to contact

Witnesses should always be an independent witnesses and should not be a blood relation as it will it cast suspicions being interested parties. Address does not matter however persons witnessing should be independent persons known to you

The parents of either or both the parties to marriage can very well be a witness to the registration of marriage.
There's no legal infirmity in it.
You need not change it.
Just inform them to produce their identity proof.

yes the groom's parents can act as the witness even if they have the same residence address. I can assure you about the marriage part and Delhi district court does not consider the address as one of the lacuna
