Wife claiming that her marriage broke because of me, what to do

My sister's ex boyfriend who was married to someone else had a divorce 3-4 months back and now his wife ( who was before divorce ) has filed some FIR complaint on my sister for making her relationship broken But my sister just used to talk to that guy on social media nothing physical. What will happen now ? Can police take any action on this ?

You have not clearly mentioned under what sections the F.I.R. has been registered . Whatever F.I.R. is there you just let us know we will definitely help You in this regard. Police does have the power to initiate investigation on Complaint moved by the Complainant so police can investigate the matter and for better Advice you let us know the entire facts by contacting us through Law Rato. Technically, only a wife can complaint against her husband for committing adultery with another women and as per the provision of Indian Penal code there is no punishment for the girl alleged to be in adultery but the same must be proved with strong evidence. In your case, if the FIR has already been lodged against your sister then the police official may call her for inquiry to find out the real controversy / facts of case if no evidence found as per the allegation leveled against your sister then police may file an application for the cancellation of said FIR before the concerned court.
