What are the rights on the joint family property?

My father and his brothers had not partitioned there ancestrally property..my father passed away..they had some property which they had got through 'right to tenancy' (in kannada it is ulluvavane vadaya..land reform act )..that property is in my uncle's name..since ours is joint family property. .am I as my father has passed away have rights in that property..

If at the time of confirmation of tenancy your father and your uncles were together as joint family, you ( your brothers sisters too ) as son of your late father have right over the tenanted lands. You should be able to show that they all consisted as one joint family.

If the joint family property is the ancestral property and has come from your grand father to your uncle (your uncle being the kartha of the family), then you and your siblings have a right on that property

No, it is not considered as ancestors propert, because this property is in the name of your Fathers brother, So it is considered as allotted land to your uncle, if this land is allotted to your grand father then you had a share.
