stree dhan given during marriage but no record.

Me, my family & my mother have a dispute with my brother and wife. we stay in the same country abroad but not in talking terms. Now, my brother's brother in law in mumbai has threatened to file the FIR against us for stree dhan after more than 25 years of marriage. we don't have any record what was given that time and my father also passed away. if i have to travel to mumbai in jan, will it be a problem at the immigration? will we be arrested as he is politically affiliated. please advice.
There cannot be any arrest for stridhan unless absolutely directed by the Court. Also, usually Courts are not inclined to direct arrest for return of stridhan. Feel free to contact me for seeking any legal advice as regards the same.

It is not that if an FIR is registered against you will land you in Jail. If it is going to be 498A then not a big concern. Ultimately you can hire a lawyer and get anticipatory bail secured if you anticipate arrest on Arrival. You need to have someone in Mumbai to inquire about the steps the opposite party is taking. Having said that to secure anticipatory bail is a good thing.

No, you do not have to worry, if FIR does not gets lodged against you. If FIR would have got lodged against you, then too, directly you would not have got arrested, considering the nature of dispute you have mentioned, just you have would faced trouble in going abroad with lodged FIR.
