Responsibility of widowed sister

21-Jul-2023 (In Family Law)
My mother is 70 yrs old. She had 3 more sisters. The youngest sister has passed away. Her elder sister, my mother and her third sister is alive . Both her sisters are widows. Her third sister is mentally unstable and is being taken care by my mother for the last 20 years. In the last 6 months her sister has deteriorated further mentally which is putting a lot of strain on her. I am her only son and have 2 children. My younger daughter is 6 years old and suffering from adhd and learning disability. I need the support of my parents for my daughter but my mother is unable to do so. Both my father and mother are no more willing or able to take care of them because of their old age. My mother has cousin brother also who is to take care of my aunt but since last six months has refused to do so. nLegally do i have any options?

actually if you are not taking any property of your maternal aunt then neither you nor your mother has any legal obligation towards her. if you want then you can explore the option of putting her on some old home age. Tanmoy Chattopadhyay, M.Sc (Net), LL.B(Delhi), Advocate, High Court, Calcutta
