regarding Release deed of ancestral property

Is partition need before release deed to identify exact part of the release person, or just to make release deed without partition to other family members

Dear Sir, Partition is not necessary before Release Deed or Gift Deed. The releasor or donor may say that his entire share which may be fallen to his share is hereby gifted away or released in favour of such and such persons. Even undivided share and undefined share of one of the sharer may be released in favour of other co-sharer .
