regarding defamation by my boyfriends best friend

i was potrayed to have a relation ship with other man who was my friend other than my boyfriend. This allegation was made by boyfriends best friend ....this created issues in my relation ship even though my relation ship with my friend was not more than casual friends .this caused me depression for 4 months and still suffering from anxiety nhow can I get justice ?

Sorry to know about your situation. If you want to take legal action then you may do it. If you have any sort of proofs of what that person has done and thereby defamed you then you may send him a legal notice and then file a criminal as well as a civil case against him.
