Recovery from family , expenses bear by me from my childhood

If any elder sibling bear the expenses of their younger brother and sister ( study and livehood) because thier father does not wanted to spend his money on his family. Then can elder sibling ask for money which he spends on his family and his younger siblings. They had made only verbal agreement about returning of study expenses but for rest expenses like food, clothes and daily expenses , the have not told anything. Now thier parents are saying that you are our elder child so that was your responsibility to take care of your younger siblings. So please suggest what I can do so that I can get my money back as now I have required money.

a verbal agreement is valid in India. but it should be a valid agreement. A valid agreement is said to have the essentials of a valid contract, them being: Proposal Acceptance Lawful Object Lawful Consideration Capacity to Contract if an agreement was made between the elder and younger sibling then is can be enforceable under law. also, the older siblings are not legally responsible to maintain younger sibling.

if it is done in love and affection then you can not take it back by any agreement but opposite to that if is done under agreement with intension that get it back later then it can be inforsed after parties getting majority.

Taking care of the livelihood is a matter of choice and morals and not a obligation imposed by law. It will be considered as lending money to someone if you have proofs so such money lending.
