Protection from family in inter religion marriage

Hi sir/Mam, I am a Hindu female. I want to marry my partner who is a Christian. His family is okay with our marriage but My family is totally against it. I fear that my family would cause harm to my partner even if we get married because my father has political support. So I am hesitant in asking police for protection too. Please advise a solution which will be safe for both of us. Thanks in advance

You can married him under special marriage act. Because you both the parties are different religions. After your marriage you can ask for police protection. Your marriage must registered in the office.
