Pressure from Family and cousins to be responsible for fathers debt

I currently work in UK for NHS as a Physio. My father in India has got a lot of personal debts (Actually in a debt trap paying a lot of interests). We family members including myself and my sisters are not aware about most of his debts, like when he took it or from whom he took it. when they don't get money on time, started asking me and my sister. During the first few instances we took over couple of liabilities and we are paying it monthly , but now we both have reached our capacity.

You can file an application for injunction restraining the creditors from approaching you or contacting you in any manner before the munsiff court having jurisdictionnover the matter and also a complaint before the police station

No debt - collection agency in India has the legal right to harass , threaten , or force children to repay their father’s personal debts . A child is not legally responsible for a parent’s loan merely because of their relationship . Any such intimidation or coercion can be challenged through the appropriate legal authorities.
